News Post 12

On CNN, I read an article about Texas Senator, Ted Cruz, condemning the multiple protests from athletes during the national anthem. Cruz tweeted about the events saying:

"To all the athletes who have made millions in America's freedom: stop insulting our flag, our nation, our heroes".

Cruz also was reported saying:
"It's sad when you see rich spoiled athletes that don't recognize what an incredible blessing this country is."

This all started when 49ers quarter back, Colin Kaepernick, refused to stand during the national anthem. This trend started to spread amongst multiple teams and athletes. Many conservatives were appalled by the way Obama responded to the events by saying that they were "exercising their constitutional right. Cruz then responded by saying:

"I was disappointed to see President Obama stand with Kaepernick and say, 'that's right, disrespect the flag.' That's not the job of the President. The President should be standing up for America and the president should be encouraging every American to honor the flag that so many have bled and died for."
